Day 01
PARIS - COLOMBO
Flight to Colombo. Night flying.
Day 02
COLOMBO AND SEASIDE AREA • (40 KM / 1H)
Arrive at Colombo in the morning. Meet and assist by our representative and transfer to the capital. You will discover the Fort area and clock lighthouse, Pettah district, a Buddhist temple, residential neighborhood, Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). Then discovery of Negombo, a fishing village by the sea (the fish market, fishing port ...). Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 03
REGION SEASIDE - Chilaw - PARC Wilpattu - ANURADHAPURA • (176 KM / 4H)
Road through small fishing villages along the sea. Arrive in Chilaw, a small seaside town and visit the local market. Then experience the Hindu temple and the Buddhist temple Munriswaram of Panduwasnuwara. Tour and safari park Wilpattu where you may be lucky enough to see leopards, sloth bear, elephants, crocodiles, cobras and turtles living in the lakes of this region. Arrival at Anuradhapura. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 04
ANURADHAPURA - SIGIRIYA • (90 KM / 2:30)
Visit the archaeological site of Anuradhapura (listed as a UNESCO World Heritage), which was the first capital of the Sinhalese kingdom. You will see the oldest tree in the world: the Sri Maha Bodhi tree under which Buddha received enlightenment at Gaya in North India, then you will start to climb the Sigiriya rock lion. Visit the fortress of Sigiriya (listed as a UNESCO World Heritage) overlooking the surrounding valley and then a batik factory. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Sigiriya or the region's cultural triangle.
