Day 01
PARIS - CHIANG RAI
Flight to Chiang Rai. Night flying.
Day 02
CHIANG RAI - CHIANG KHONG (130 KM / 2H)
• Nam Khong Riverside Hotel 2 * Sup. On arrival in Chiang Rai in the morning you will be greeted at the airport by your guide and you will make your transfer to Chiang Khong, hosted by the Mekong River town. After lunch, you will have the afternoon free to rest of the trip if you like. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 03
Chiang Khong - Huay Xai BAN - PAKBENG (160 KM)
• Pakbeng Lodge 3 * boutique Early morning you will cross the border for a cruise from 7:30 am to board a boat traditional style, specially designed to meet the needs of travelers (space, safety, comfort, protection against the sun or rain, etc.). You will discover the banks of the legendary Mekong River, stopping in two villages of minorities. After lunch on board, you will arrive at Pakbeng where you will discover this village on the banks of the Mekong River that blends Lao Hmong and Khamou, etc. Dinner and overnight at boutique lodge located along the Mekong River.
Day 04
PAKBENG (3 KM / 1H)
You will go by canoe and walking towards the elephant and the village families of mahouts camp. You can watch the elephants bathing in a natural basin of the river, a quiet moment of communication between the mahout and his animal. You will walk elephant (2h) in the surrounding forest. After lunch at the lodge, you will walk to Pakbeng inhabited mainly the Khamou and Hmong minorities. Visit the Wat Chom If Cheng and you will be free until dinner. Night at the lodge.
Day 05
PAKBENG - Luang Prabang (160 KM)
• Sanctuary Hotel 3 * Sup. (downtown) Continuation of the cruise (7:30) on the Mekong to Luang Prabang through beautiful landscapes. Off to the sacred Pak Ou Caves, home to hundreds of Buddha statues. Luang Prabang Arrive, a World Heritage Site. Dinner with culinary discovery of Kali Kai, casserole chicken curry and coconut. You will stay three nights in a hotel in the city center. This is an opportunity to have a drink in the evening on a terrace overlooking the Mekong River.
